I can’t begin to tell you how excited I am about what I’m about to tell you! I’ve been talking with partners for months, and working hard to up the ante on my physical abilities because in 2012, I’m embarking on a one of a kind journey that will test my limits and challenge those around me to be part of something bigger than ourselves!

So here it is:
I’m part of a team of people who are racing in the Coeur d’Alene Ironman to raise awareness about pornography and it’s affects on kids. The average age they are first exposed to porn is 11 years. Whether you view porn as a hobby or something harmful, I hope we can agree that kids and porn don’t mix.

xxxChurch.com is an organization committed to helping people who are addicted to porn and people trapped in the porn industry. They also work diligently at keeping porn out of the hands of kids by using technology, accountability, and healthy dialog. You can find out all about it on xxxchurch.com.

I’m not just raising awareness. I’m raising money. Doing something about this problem takes more than knowing about it, it takes action. My goal is to raise $10,000 before race day, which is June 24, 2012. This will be my first Ironman, and I’m doing it for the benefit of this amazing organization. There are 10 people on my team doing the same, making our net donation $100,000!

1. i became a father
2. my wife quit her job to spend more time in her area of passion
3. we then started an organization to help teens in the community (http://thisisvantage.com/)
4. my pastor resigned
5. i was put on the search committee for our next pastor
6. i agreed to race in my first ironman and raise $10k in the process (more about that this year!)
7. i joined the elite club of scooter riders (maybe the most important of the 7)

I am on the edge of my seat for what amazing things await me this year. If I learned anything form 2011, it’s that with risk comes reward. My plan is to risk much, add value to the rewards, and give them away. Here’s to the best 2012 has to offer. May God be blessed in all I do!
