My wife, Elizabeth, and I have been dreaming lately. Maybe cause it’s really hot outside (we live in the desert), but probably because we read a little too much Donald Miller. In particular, his book, “A Million Miles in a Thousand Years” is particularly inspirational. So much so that we attended a conference called “Storyline” where he lectured and led us through a series of stories, ideas, challenges, and scripture that helped us launch into the riskiest and most exciting season in our marriage thus far:
Elizabeth quit her job to do something she is passionate about, and make a difference in the lives of teens in our community.
We are freaked-the-geek out about our bank account, and she’s working harder than she ever did for a boss, but in this moment, none of that matters. We choose instead to be fully alive… to take risks and live a more compelling story that changes lives.
This is Vantage, an organization Elizabeth created to help educate teens about the consequences of sexual decisions. She uses personal testimony of people who have gone through things like abortions and STD’s, as well as people who saved their first kiss for their spouse. In our area, we have some of the worst stats on teens with STD’s and teen pregnancy in the nation.
We want to change that.
We want kids to realize that the decisions they make today will affect their future.
Will you help us? Spread the word. Tell a friend. Post this link to your facebook & twitter, and if you have a teenager, contact my wife. She holds classes with teaching and testimony specifically geared for your teen! You might not think this could happen to you, but so did the folks and kids that are currently dealing with this tough realities. Registration is open! Check it out:
